UTICA — The Oneida boys tennis pair of Drew Hicks and Spencer Ingmire qualified for a trip to the U.S. Open/New York State Tennis Tournament by defeating Fayetteville-Manlius’ Gene Balian and Daniel Manta in three sets Tuesday in the state qualifying tournament at the Utica Parkway Courts.

Tuesday’s win for the second-seeded pair in the 20-team bracket was 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.

The pair will play the top-seeded Jamesville-DeWitt duo Luke Cantone and Shreyank Bhatt at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Utica Parkway courts.
