The Oneida girls volleyball team shut out Canastota Wednesday and will face Vernon-Verona-Sherrill in the Section III Class B title match Saturday evening in Syracuse.
Oneida beat Canastota at home 25-14, 25-23 and 25-23.
Jamie Jones had 20 kills for Oneida, as well as two aces, two assists and two digs. Elysia Carbajal had seven kills, 14 digs and six aces. Zoey Fox had 29 assists, three aces, seven digs and five kills. Kalyn Badgley had 13 digs and three assists. Abby Phillips had nine digs and three kills. Morgan Hollenbeck had seven digs and four kills.
Oneida, the second seed, will play VVS, the four seed, at 5 p.m. Saturday at Jamesville-DeWitt. During the regular season, Oneida won both matches, 3-1 at VVS and 3-0 at home.
The Indians are 18-2 and the Red Devils are 13-6.
The Remsen girls volley ball team lost to top seed Morrisville-Eaton in three sets in the Class D semifinals. Scoring details were not available.
Oneida boys volleyball falls
The Chittenango boys volleyball team beat Oneida at home in four sets.
Oneida lost the first set 27-25 and the second 25-18. They won the third 25-22 but lost the fourth 25-21.
Leading Oneida was Zander Farr with 17 kills and nine digs. Jordan Farwell had 12 digs and two assists; Ethan Scanlon had three aces, 20 assists and four digs; and Tesfaye Hatch had 13 assists and five digs.
Oneida falls to 12-2 on the season.
Adirondack routs Little Falls
The Adirondack girls basketball team got 24 points from Cam Roberts and 22 more from Belle Kranbuhl to beat Little Falls 60-30 on the road in a non-league contest.
The Wildcats won the first quarter 15-7 and built a 31-12 halftime lead. They outscored the Mounties 20-9 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
HP handles Sherburne
The Holland Patent girls basketball team ran out to a 24-6 lead after a quarter and beat Sherburne-Earlville 62-35 on the road in the Center State Conference.
Haedyn Roberts led HP with a 22-point, 15-rebound double-double. Anna Healey scored 15 and Hanna Corrigan scored 13. Emily Carlson scored eight and grabbed 17 boards.
The Westmoreland girls basketball team beat Sauquoit Valley 42-27 at home in the Center State.
The Bulldogs ran out to a five-point first quarter lead then built it to 22-12 at the half.
Alex Albrecht led Westmoreland with 14 points. Gabby Moore led the team with eight rebounds.
