Oneida Street in Utica to be closed Wednesday, Sept. 28 for building demolition
UTICA — Oneida Street will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians between the roundabout and Hobart Street from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
The city recently took possession of the property at 1315 Oneida St. — and, city officials say, because of unsafe conditions, the building is being demolished Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Additionally, the businesses on either side of 1315 Oneida St. will be asked to close. It is recommended that all businesses between the roundabout and Hobart Street close for the day, according to the announcement by city officials.
It is anticipated that these closures will only last the one day and that businesses and Oneida Street will be able to re-open Thursday, Sept. 29.
