Oneida Nation to hold virtual job fair

ONEIDA — Oneida Nation Enterprises is expanding its “New Year, New Career” recruitment campaign to fill 150 positions by hosting a virtual career fair on Thursday, Feb. 4.

Streamed live on Turning Stone’s Facebook page beginning at 12 p.m., job seekers can learn about the various hospitality and gaming job opportunities, and hear directly from team leaders. Open are a variety of jobs, which include a combination of salaried and hourly positions, such as dealers, culinary, bartenders, restaurant and cocktail servers, hotel staff, housekeeping, and other gaming positions.

Participants will also hear from current Oneida Nation Enterprises employees, including several new team members who just moved to the region from Orlando, Fla.

After Disney announced layoffs for hospitality workers at its Orlando resorts, the Oneida Indian Nation partnered with Oneida County on the “New Year, New Career” campaign to fill more than 250 positions by targeting areas impacted the most by the pandemic, including Orlando, New York City, and Atlantic City.

The campaign was created to complement the Nation’s ongoing hiring efforts in Upstate New York. There have been more than 100 accepted offers resulting from the initiative already, which includes more than 70 Central New Yorkers close to 30 individuals who relocated from Orlando and numerous referrals from the Orlando recruits.
