CHITTENANGO — The grand opening for the Oneida Indian Nation’s second Maple Leaf Market store is Thursday. A third Maple Leaf Market is slated to open later this year in Sylvan Beach on Route 13 after an existing SavOn store undergoes renovations.
The nation’s new convenience store brand made its debut in Sherrill last year.
The Chittenango store is on Route 5 near Tuscarora Road.
The Sylvan Beach SavOn is set to close Sunday. Construction will begin immediately on the new store, and the location will reopen this summer as a Maple Leaf Market.
The menu includes hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads, pastas, freshly-cut fruits and vegetables, coffee, and freshly-baked pastries.
The store features a variety of items from regional companies, including Joe’s Jerky in Sherrill, HP Hood in Oneida and Utica Coffee Roasting Co.
“After receiving an incredible response to our first Maple Leaf Market in Sherrill, we are excited to continue our Central New York expansion with our opening in Chittenango and to offering guests fresh, made-to-order food,” said Ray Halbritter, Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO.
The Chittenango store will offer additional conveniences such as, full-service gasoline at self-serve prices, a two-bay car wash, a customer loyalty program, and imported and domestic beers.
