Oneida County Sheriff’s Office accepting applications for deputy exam
WHITESBORO — The application period is now open for anyone looking to become a deputy sheriff with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, according to an announcement on Thursday from the law enforcement agency.
The civil service exam for deputy sheriff is scheduled for Sept. 9.
The application period is open from now until July 21.
Anyone interested in becoming a deputy sheriff must file their application before that date.
Applicants must be at least 19 years old with a high school diploma or equivalency. They must reside in Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego or Otsego counties. The starting salary for a deputy sheriff in Oneida County is $41,235, which increases to $48,512 after completing the initial training.
The application comes with a $25 fee.
