Oneida County needs new leadership

As a former Oneida County legislator from Vernon Center, it is important that people realize what is really going on. This year, Oneida County will receive $19 million from the settlement agreement with the Oneida Indian Nation.

County Executive Anthony Picente has given the areas affected by this agreement only $1.5 million out of this $19 million. Our people lost it all and he is throwing us a pittance of money. Dave Gordon held a press conference in Verona a few weeks ago stating that he will be putting $5.25 million in his budget to indemnify the areas that were devastated by this agreement. Now I ask the people of Vernon, Verona, Sherrill etc, what is better $1.5 million or $5.25 million? I think the answer is simple. A vote for Dave Gordon is a vote for helping the people of the western part of Oneida County. A vote for Picente is a wasted vote.
