Oneida business helps collect money for softball scholarship program
ONEIDA — Jennifer Bailey, owner of Worthy in Oneida, threw out the first ceremonial pitch at a Girl's Little League Softball game on Thursday, May 11 after Worthy helped collect over $3,000 to donate to the softball scholarship program, which helps girls play at no cost.
"Your donations have helped the girls softball program grow and include little girls who otherwise wouldn’t have gotten a chance to play," Bailey said in a Facebook post.
Amy Roache-Fedchenko, a coach for the girl's softball team, asked Bailey to throw the first pitch as she's become a positive role model for the girls.
Bailey said there will be a can and bottle drive starting soon with a goal to raise money for two pitching machines, each valued at $1,400.
