TOWN OF MARCY — One person was hospitalized and one person was ticketed following a four-vehicle, domino-effect crash on River Road Monday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies said Frederick Denslow, 25, of Remsen, was following too closely to another vehicle at 7:13 a.m. and his 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck crashed into the back of a 2004 Saturn sedan, driven by Kimberly Farren, 56, of Marcy. Deputies said the collision pushed the Saturn into the back of a 2006 Volkswagen, driven by Steven Bell, 34, of Lacona.

Deputies said that second collision pushed the Volkswagen into the oncoming lane, where it crashed head-on into a 2016 Jeep Compass, driven by Todd Alton, 54, of Hubbardsville.

Denslow was ticketed for several vehicle and traffic violations, authorities said. He is scheduled to appear in Town Court.

Farren was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Hartford for her injuries, deputies stated.
