BOONVILLE — It was another great year for the Boonville-Oneida County Fair.
The rides, competitions, agricultural and animal displays, tractor pulls, and this year’s first-ever 4-H Art and Bucket Challenge — a creative art program for teens and youngsters — all provided a special atmosphere combining fun and and education for the participants.
It takes a lot of work to compete at the county fair. We especially appreciated the comments made by 22-year-old Ashley Thornton.
Thornton, who has been going to shows since she was six years old, says she still loves the competition. “My favorite part about going to shows is the competition, and seeing how each farm competes with one another,” Thornton said.
One of the other benefits of the county fair is its ability to bring people together. All of those who work so hard for the various contests display a solidarity of will and talent.
They are all part of our great agricultural community and in our book are all winners.
See you next year!
