One arrested, one suspect at large in knifepoint robbery


One man is in custody after Rome Police said he and an accomplice robbed another man at knifepoint at the Fort Stanwix Apartments early Tuesday morning.

Police said Casey R. Beasock, 27, and another man entered an apartment in the 400 block of W. Embargo St. at about 6 a.m. Tuesday and threatened the resident inside with a knife.

Police said the two men stole a quantity of cash and fled the apartment.

The victim was not injured. Police said the victim was familiar with the two men, and this is believed to be a targeted incident.

Police said Beasock was located early this morning by officers Fred A. Pacicca and Anthony A. Calandra, one of the department’s new recruits. Police said Beasock was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

The other suspect remains at large. Police said they are following several leads while they investigate the second suspect and do not believe the public is in danger.

Beasock is charged with one count of first-degree robbery, a class B felony, police stated.

He is scheduled to appear
in City Court, according to authorities.
