Jacob Olearczyk of Barneveld competed in the regional qualifier for the National Drive, Chip, and Putt Competition sponsored by the PGA at TPC Boston on Saturday, Sept. 17. He won the overall competition for the age 14-15 bracket and took first in the driving and chipping competition.

This win allows him to compete for the national title at the 2023 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. This will be a nationally-televised event on April 2, 2023 prior to the start of the Masters.

Tens of thousands of contestants attempted to qualify in three stages from the United States and Canada. Olearczyk will be one of 80 competing at Augusta — 10 in his age bracket. He is the first local competitor to make it to Augusta.
