Old Forge talk addresses biking by seniors

Posted

Octogenarian Clay Luce will lead a discussion on senior biking, covering topics such as health benefits, safety, bike selection, places to bike, riding technique, and visibility, at 2 p.m. June 18 at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd.

Luce has been a resident of Old Forge since 2006, when he retired from teaching physics and moved from Connecticut, with his wife Lucy, to the Adirondacks. He has been biking since his youth and also enjoys kayaking and RV trips. Hs investigations into senior biking identified several common elements in cyclists from age 50 to 100 such as strength, stamina, balance, vision, fitness, joint problems and other medical conditions.
