Old Forge library offers free sound healing sessions
OLD FORGE — The public is invited to try a free session of sound healing with certified sound healing practitioner Andrea Lisette Villiere at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd.
Registered attendees will relax and rejuvenate with Tibetan healing bowls. Villiere will create a soundscape designed to revive, with sounds that transport and carry worries away.
“These sound healings usually run $60, but because we are a library, we can offer them for free,” said library director Linda Weal. “We are great about giving equal access to all.”
Sound healing uses the power of sound to restore one’s mind, body, and spirit to a state of balance. The harmonic vibrations from the instruments produce sound waves that have a deep, penetrating effect on the receiver, promoting healing and well-being.
Villiere has more than 300 hours of training, is fully devoted to furthering her studies, and continues to evolve her healing practice. She has been offering sound baths and sharing her passion for sound healing since 2015.
She received her training at the Sage Academy of Sound Energy, the BioSonic Academy of Music and Sound Healing, and the Omega Institute. Villiere presently lives in Old Forge.
Space is limited. Although there is no fee, registration is required. Please call the library at 315-369-6008 or e-mail oldforge@midyork.org to reserve a space.
