OHM BOCES seeking memories for 75th anniversary
NEW HARTFORD — This year marks 75 years since district Superintendent Elwin Shoemaker proposed the creation of a Board of Cooperative Educational Services, making Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES one of the first BOCES formed in New York State.
OHM BOCES is extremely proud to be celebrating this milestone occasion and recognizes that it could not have made it here without the time, effort and support of all of its stakeholders. In honor of the 75th anniversary, OHM BOCES is seeking stakeholder memories, reflections and stories of what means the most to them from their time at OHM BOCES, and how OHM BOCES has shaped who they are and what they’re doing now.
Students, alumni, staff members, retirees, component district staff and board members, current and former Cooperative Board members, community members, family members and business partners are encouraged to submit their own written or video memories of OHM BOCES.
Memories can be shared at www.oneida-boces.org/75threflections. Written reflections should be within 700 words and video reflections should be within three minutes in length. Submissions will be accepted through Dec. 1. Submissions will be shared on the OHM BOCES website and social media accounts, as well as during BOCES events throughout the 75th anniversary year.
The OHM BOCES serves the component school districts of Brookfield, Clinton, Holland Patent, New Hartford, New York Mills, Oriskany, Remsen, Sauquoit Valley, Utica, Waterville, Westmoreland and Whitesboro.
