OFA to host event highlighting elder abuse awareness

CLINTON — Oneida County Office for the Aging and Continuing Care will host a Summer Expo to highlight Elder Abuse Awareness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 at Clinton Arena, 36 Kirkland Ave.

This will include a health wellness information fair, elder abuse education workshop, a picnic lunch and door prizes. Included in the day will be health screenings, health information and licensed Medicare advisors will be present to assist with information and questions.

To highlight Elder Abuse Awareness Day, Licensed Medical Social Worker Art Mason of LifeSpan of Greater Rochester, Inc. will give a Senior Community Awareness presentation.

To attend the picnic lunch, interested participants age 60 or older will need to call Oneida County Office for Aging and Continuing Care to reserve a meal by Friday, June 14 at 315-798-5456 for a suggested contribution of $2.25. If under age 60, the full cost of the meal is $8.25.
