In partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension and SNAP-ED Nutrition & Obesity Prevention, Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., will host a tasting and nutrition program at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 26.

The tasting will be held at the information table near the elevator. An adult workshop with food demonstration will follow at 4 p.m. in the library’s accessible auditorium. The programs are free. Registration is not required for the drop-in tasting, but reservations are requested for the workshop.

During the workshop, nutrition educators will offer ideas on meal planning, healthy food shopping on a budget, and nutrition.

According to Cornell Cooperative Extension, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-ED) helps people with limited incomes learn how to eat well on a small budget. It is a free, confidential nutrition education program working with residents of Oneida, Herkimer, Hamilton and Oswego counties.

For more information about the community event, or to reserve a spot at the workshop, contact the library at 336-4570 or stop by the Information Desk during your next trip to the library.
