The Oneida County Office for the Aging and Continuing Care and its advisory council are seeking nominations for the 2019 Older American Awards.
Nominations for outstanding community contribution by a senior citizen or couple and for outstanding community contribution by an organization or business are due March 23. Nomination forms are available at community senior centers and for download among the links listed on the left of the agency’s homepage, ocgov.net/ofa. This year’s theme is “Connect, Create, Contribute,” which is intended to encourage older adults and their communities to connect with friends, family and services that support participation; create by engaging in activities that promote learning, health and personal enrichment; contribute time, talent and life experience to benefit others.
An awards ceremony is planned in May.
