While sites that offer Food $en$e will still be handing out March orders, they will not be taking any new orders at this time.

“There will be no orders taken for April until further notice from the Food Bank,” Martha Simonin, program coordinator at the First United Methodist Church of Rome, noted. A representative from the Central New York Food Bank confirmed they have decided to suspend the program for the month of April.

Simonin added: “The pick up will still be at the church 400 N. George St., and will be a drive-up system. Nobody will have to get out of their vehicle, or if walking they will be met at the door.” Pick-up will be held March 27. Times are:

First United Methodist Church, noon to 2 p.m.

Lake Delta Fire Department, 8508 Elmer Hill Road, 1 to 3 p.m.

Foothills Rural Community Ministry, Presbyterian Church, Holland Patent, 12:30 to 2 p.m. (also March 28, 10 a.m. to noon).

Karing Kitchen in Oneida, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Towers II — use the back left door.

Food $en$e is a discount food program provided by the Central New York Food Bank. For more information, go online to http://www.foodbankcny.org/our-programs/food-sense-program.
