YORKVILLE — No one was injured when a motor vehicle crashed into the front of Holland Farms Bakery & Deli on Oriskany Boulevard Friday afternoon, according to the Yorkville Police Department.

Lorna Perry, 81, of Utica, was pulling into a parking spot at the front of the store around 1 p.m. Friday when she accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, police said. Her SUV lunged forward and struck the front of the business, pushing in the masonry and breaking several windows.

"Thought she was hitting the brake, but hit the gas and went into the front of the building," explained Yorkville Police Chief Frank Allen.

Perry was not injured, police said. The Holland Farms employees and customers inside the store at the time of the crash were also not injured, authorities stated.

The store remained open, according to company officials.

"Well, we had someone drive through the front wall of our building today. Good news is that no one was hurt (and this is truly the most important thing)." Holland Farms posted on their Facebook page.

"And we will continue to stay open. Never a dull moment around the Farm."

The crash remains under investigation.
