Newark doubles up Adirondack

BOONVILLE — The Adirondack Trail Blazers lost their ninth game of the season after falling, 12-6, to Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League foe Newark on Thursday night.

Bradley Roberto and Vinnie Martin doubled for the Trail Blazers and Martin had a RBI. David Mercano, John Polichetti and Mike Caruso also drove in runs for Adirondack.

Mike Sansone started the game for the Trail Blazers, working six innings, giving up three runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out five. Kyle Smyth took the loss in relief for Adirondack, lasting just 1/3 of an inning, giving up three runs on one hit while walking two batters.

Adirondack, 2-9, is back in action tonight when it visits Jamestown at 7:05.
