New wedding, events venue coming to Remsen

REMSEN — A new option for weddings and events is currently in development. Rustic Ridge Event Venue will be located at 11492 Fairchild Road in a building that formerly housed the White Birch Inn and Café Nero.

Entrepreneur Adam Keller, with business partners Elliott Ciotti and Rich Martina, have been busy breathing new life into the old restaurant. When completed, the venue will feature a bar and cocktail area, a bridal suite, an outdoor patio, a space for ceremonies, and a structure tent set up for the wedding reception area.

“Our goal is for customers to be able to have their rustic event but not be overpowered by rustic-ness,” Keller said. “The structure tent creates a blank slate for the couple to choose whatever direction to go in.”

Built to be sturdier than traditional wedding event tents and semi-permanent, structure tents can stay up the whole year. Weddings will be able to be scheduled late spring through early autumn.

The renovations are now in the framing stage. Next up is electrical and then the walls will be completed with rustic barnwood. The exterior will have board and batten siding.

The name Rustic Ridge Event Venue was the first to pop into Keller’s mind when brainstorming names. It felt right for the space so he kept it. The venue does sit on the rising ridge near the 95 hill area, with the added bonus of the overlooking the big-sky sunsets over rolling hills.

Keller grew up in Floyd and attended Oriskany Central School. He is already involved in several area businesses, including the Tent All Rent All company in Whitesboro and Christman Barn in Ilion.

Keller said establishing a rustic wedding venue at this location made sense because there is not anything similar in the area.

The closest barn-style wedding venues are at points north in Boonville, west in Verona, and southeast in the Mohawk Valley, but nothing he knew of in between.

“We went and looked at it and within about five minutes we had decided to buy it,” Keller said. “The building had an amazing rustic feel.”

Because of his background in party rentals, Keller could visualize the potential the building had. “We wanted a traditional structure but not a barn,” Keller said. “This building had all the space and everything we needed.”

The goal is to be ready to book weddings for June 2023.

Details are still being finalized, but Keller anticipates the Rustic Ridge Event Venue fee to be between $3,500 and $4,500. For information, contact Keller via the Rustic Ridge Event Center Facebook page.
