NEW HARTFORD — A new pediatric care facility began welcoming patients for its first day of business Monday.

Blooming Pediatrics, 1 Oxford Crossing, with health care providers Coral Montana and Michal Hovak, treats patients from birth to 21 years of age.

Montana, a pediatric nurse practitioner, and Hovak, a family nurse practitioner, hold a combined 20 years of experience. The two are opening their own practice after previously serving at Slocum Dickson Pediatrics under Dr. William Fuchs, who is set to retire at the end of the month.

“There’s a severe need in the area” for pediatric care providers, Hovak said. She says that over the last year, three pediatricians in the area have retired, and one provider has passed away.

To fill that gap, Blooming Pediatrics hosts a space with a welcoming aesthetic for children.

Hovak says when it comes to care, “We do things a little bit different.” She continued, “We’re more open to people who want to do alternative vaccine schedules and things like that. We’re very focused on the patient and the family.”

Services offered include Well Child Care, sick visits, immunizations, prenatal visits, and mental health needs. Standard pediatric vaccines will be offered, including flu vaccines annually. COVID vaccines are not offered at the office.

Visit bloomingpeds.com for more information or call the office at 315-662-0162.
