New Hartford soccer squad shuts out RFA boys in Tri-Valley contest


The Rome Free Academy boys soccer team was shut out by New Hartford, 2-0, on Tuesday in a Tri-Valley League game at the Stadium.

Chase Coluccio made four saves in net for the Black Knights, who fell to 1-4-1 overall.

Sei Sei and Caleb Wu scored one goal each for the Spartans, who remained unbeaten in the Tri-Valley League. New Hartford goalie Nicholas Buchholz stopped five shots.

Scholl fuels Blue Devils

In other TVL action, Parker Scholl tallied a pair of goals as Camden blanked host Oneida, 2-0.

Matt Lucero added one assist for the Blue Devils. Camden goalie Josh Leos stopped eight shots.

Jacob Vaccaro and Alex Tooker made four saves in net respectively for the 1-4 Indians.

Remsen edges Oriskany

In girls soccer action, host Remsen edged Center State Conference foe Oriskany, 4-3, in overtime.

Kylie Singer scored three goals to lead the Rams. Kendall Decker added the other goal.

Kara Daskiewich scored a pair of goals to pace the Redskins. Her first came on a penalty kick and her second came with 2.4 seconds left in the game to force overtime. Madeline Denison scored the other goal for Oriskany.

Remsen goalie stopped Hailey Jewett 10 shots; while Oriskany’s Katie Bowers had 20 saves.

Bulldogs victorious in 2 OT

The Westmoreland girls soccer team defeated visiting Mount Markham, 5-3, in double overtime in a CSC contest.

Natalya Scotellaro scored two goals to pace the 2-0 Bulldogs. Mary Muller tallied one goal and one assist and Samantha Dee and Kaitlyn Amarasinghe added one goal apiece.

Westmoreland goalie Julia Muller made 14 saves.

HP rolls past Canastota

The unbeaten Holland Patent girls soccer squad scored seven second-half in goals en route to an 8-0 CSC victory over host Canastota.

Kaitlyn Amarasinghe scored four goals and two assists to fuel the 4-0 Golden Knights, while Samantha Rachon had a pair of goals and Anna Dornburgh and Taylor Koenig added one goal each.

HP goalie Haedyn Roberts stopped two shots.

Adirodack shuts out S-E

The visiting Adirondack girls soccer team blanked Sherburne-Earlville, 3-0, in a CSC game.

Adirondack goals were scored by Emma Hennessey, Kennedy Case and Benin Pomonville.

Wildcats goalie Kassidy Rogers had nine saves.

Supra leads Indians

In TVL girls soccer action, Kayla Supra scored both goals as visiting Oneida downed Camden, 2-0.

​Rachel Deruby had both assists for the Indians.

Oneida goalie Kyra Shlotzhauer stopped six shots and Camden goalie Hannah Hughes made eight saves.

Clinton blanks Herkimer

In field hockey action, Clinton shut out Herkimer, 6-0, in a CSC game.

Gianna Trunfio and Madison Steates scored two goals and one assist each for the Warriors. Ali Saunders had one goal and one assist and Jessica Ritz added the other goal.

HP sweeps Westmo

In girls tennis action, Holland Patent swept a CSC doubleheader against Westmoreland, 4-1 and 3-2.

Westmoreland’s Mikayla Tierney won both her singles matches and HP’s Sara Mierek also won both singles matches.

In doubles action, Ashley Olney-Madison Parks and Jackie Mann-Bella Adamo swept both matches for the Golden Knights.

Indians win non-leaguer

Unbeaten Oneida blanked visiting Chittenango, 7-0, in a non-league girls tennis match.

Lauren Skibitski, Sydney Lusher and Kathryn Brown won in singles action for the 7-0 Indians.

The doubles duos of Emily Marshall-Molly Moyer, Mattie Hicks-Sophia Skinner, Sophia Docous-Kaylyn Curro and Mikah Albro-Hannah Myatt were also victorious for Oneida.

Clinton takes tennis contest

The Clinton girls tennis squad edged CSC host Sauquoit Valley 3-2.

Madeline Walters won in singles action for the 6-1 Warriors.

The Clinton doubles teams of Casey Vechery-Abigail Soika and Olivia Bessey-Nolan/Alyson Burns also won.

HP swims past RFA

In girls swimming action, unbeaten Holland Patent defeated host RFA, 97-87.

Earning individual wins for the Golden Knights were Maggie McGuire in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, Eva Capuana in the 200 freestyle and in the 500 freestyle, Arianna Lange in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke, Erin Shivas in the diving, Johanna Sherman in the 100 butterfly and Laura Snyder in the 100 breaststroke.

HP, which improved to 4-0, also won the 200 medley relay.

RFA, which dropped to 3-1, won the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay.

Adirondack ties Whitesboro

In other girls swimming action, visiting Adirondack tied Whitesboro, 90-90.

Recording individual wins for the 1-2-2 Wildcats were Meaghan Humble in the diving and Grace Chambers in the 100 breaststroke.
