New Hartford tied the game earlier in the fourth quarter when junior Cole Raux scored on a run of more than 50 yards.
He finished with 70 yards on nine carries. New Hartford was without senior Alex Collver — one of the top running back in Section III — who was injured in the first quarter and didn’t return, according to coach Jim Kramer.
Senior quarterback Dom Ambrose finished with 100 yards on 10 of 20 passing.
Defensively, New Hartford was led by junior Nick Perrotta, who had 15 tackles. Classmate Logan Banek added 14 tackles.
New Hartford is set to close the regular-season at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 against visiting Auburn.
RFA suffers road loss
The Rome Free Academy football team lost 43-7 at Cicero-North Syracuse Thursday night in Class AA.
The Northstars led 35-0 at the half, with two short rushing touchdowns by La’Quan Lemon, a 57-yard run by Leonzo Zimmerman then two 25-yard touchdown passes by Jaxon Razmovski (to Zimmerman and then Tristan Johnson).
The win pushes C-NS’s record to 6-1.
RFA’s Surafia Norries had a 20-yard pick six in the fourth quarter.
RFA was without either of its quarterbacks because of injuries last week. Starter Evan Carlson-Stephenson was out with a concusion but could return this coming week. Austin DeJean suffered a shoulder injury that will keep him out the rest of the season.
The Black Knights fall to 1-6 and will end the regular season hosting Class AA Liverpool at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 on Senior Night.
