UTICA — The Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center has announced the appointment of Zach Steffen to the post of regional director.

Steffen has been with the Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center, 326 Broad St., since 2019, filling the roles of associate business advisor and business adviser.

Steffan has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the State University of New York at Albany. Prior to his time at the SBDC, Steffen managed and owned small businesses in the publishing and distribution industries.

“I’m honored to serve as director of the Mohawk Valley SBDC, and I’m excited for the opportunities that lay ahead,” Steffan said. “The Mohawk Valley SBDC provides vital support to the local small business community and we could not do so without the support of MVCC, the U.S. Small Business Administration, New York State, and our local partners in economic development.”

“I’m appreciative of our dedicated staff, each of whom bring expertise and enthusiasm to their roles,” Steffan added. “I’d also like to thank former director Paul Arvantides for his leadership and contributions to our center. I wish him well as he embarks upon a new chapter in his life and career.”
