NAACP, MVHS and churches partner on heart health sessions
ROME — The Rome Chapter NAACP and the Mohawk Valley Health System will hold information presentations on cardiovascular illnesses and diseases such as stroke, hypertension, and heart attacks at several churches throughout the city after Sunday service.
A healthy breakfast will also be served at no cost.
There will be a stroke nurse from MVHS to educate on the importance of heart care, diet and signs and symptoms of a stroke and heart attack. A navigator from The Center in Utica will also be there to discuss COVID-19 and vaccines. COVID-19 at-home test kits will be available.
The kick-off for the program will be Sunday, April 24 at Zion Episcopal Church, 140 W. Liberty St., following the 9 a.m. service. The entire presentation is expected to last approximately 1 1/2 hours. The public is invited to attend. Call 315-271-7703 for more information.
