Munson-Williams-Proctor Art Institute’s The Met: Live in HD Series will presents Laurent Pelly’s storybook staging of Massenet’s “Cendrillon” (Cinderella) at 12:55 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8.
The all-new English translation is an abridged 90-minute adaptation, with mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard as its rags-to-riches princess. Maestro Emmanuel Villaume leads a delightful cast, which includes mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo as Cinderella’s Prince Charming, soprano Jessica Pratt as her Fairy Godmother, and mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe and bass-baritone Laurent Naouri as her feuding guardians.

Attendees may also extend their noble adventure by adding a Royal Tea to their afternoon immediately following the performance on the Munson-Williams Terrace Cafe. There will be finger sandwiches, tea, coffee, soft drinks and other delights in the elegant setting of the Terrace Café.
