UTICA – On Thursday, Oct. 11, and Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, Mohawk Valley Health System’s (MVHS) Campaign For Quality (CFQ) celebrated its 17th anniversary with nearly 500 physicians, healthcare workers, students and community members from across New York State in attendance.
This popular program, held at Hamilton College in Clinton, featured national and local experts who presented on current trends in healthcare, patient experiences, population health topics and patient-safety initiatives.
“Each year this educational series brings together incredible speakers with years of experience on various topics that affect all of us” said Scott H. Perra, FACHE, president/CEO of MVHS. “You’d expect to see these renowned speakers in large cities or major academic healthcare institutes; however, the 2018 CFQ brought all of them right to our community, providing those in attendance with a better understanding of healthcare.”
Attendees selected sessions based on their interests. Topics included palliative care, robotics and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP), TeamSTEPPS, team training, high reliability, AFib treatments, teamwork, accountability and more.
CFQ is sponsored by MVHS (affiliates include Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Medical Center) as well as their medical staffs, Iroquois Healthcare, the MVHS Healthcare Foundation, Sodexo, Hospice, Novo Nordisk, Genetech and Penumbra.
