MVHS welcomes new vice president of operations
UTICA — Sherrie Vassallo has joined the Mohawk Valley Health System as vice president of operations. In her new position, she will provide operational and strategic planning and efficiency for MVHS.
Vassallo received a bachelor’s degree in sociology/business management from Utica College.
She received a master’s degree in biomedical science from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Vassallo began her career at the Rome Medical Group. She worked in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia while obtaining her graduate degree.
Before joining MVHS, she served in a range of director level and above positions in various areas including clinical, operational, research programming, and administrative/executive leadership roles. She has worked at community hospitals, as well as large academic healthcare systems including St. Joseph’s Health, Ellis Medicine, Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill-Cornell Medical College/New York Presbyterian Hospital.
She has more than 20 years of healthcare experience.
Vassallo has served on non-profit boards including the Ronald McDonald House, the National Eating Disorders Association and Prep for Prep.
She has participated in continuous executive education and personal leadership curriculum at Columbia University Business School and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Vassallo will be located at the St. Elizabeth Campus, 2209 Genesee St.
