MVHS kicks off Healthy Lifestyle Series
UTICA — Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) will kick off its Healthy Lifestyle Series with a presentation from Director of Cardiovascular and Preventative Medicine, Dr. Fred Talarico, who will speak about heart health, followed by a question and answer session.
The talk will take place at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Wynn Hospital Construction Offices, 201 Lafayette St. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Topics covered will include the impact of heart disease on our country in general and our local community, along with how to improve statistics and reduce risk. Blood pressure screenings will be offered at the event and information will be provided about the advanced technology and procedures offered through the Cardiac Program at MVHS. Refreshments will be served.
MVHS offers comprehensive cardiac services, including preventative and interventional services, surgery and rehabilitation. MVHS is a designated HeartCARE Center, a National Distinction of Excellence from the American College of Cardiology (ACC). MVHS officials say they are continually enhancing its cardiac service line for the upcoming transition to the new Wynn Hospital.
