BINGHAMTON — Mohawk Valley Community College swept Thursday's baseball doubleheader at SUNY Broome Community College winning game one 15-4 in six innings and taking game two 5-2. 

Mike Darrel struck out nine in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win on the mound in game one. The offensive attack was led by Proctor High of Utica's Joe DiMasse. DiMasse had three hits and six RBI's including a double. Dave Breakell added two hits for the Hawks. 

Oriskany's Colton Davis pitched six innings with eight strikeouts to notch the victory in game two. Utica-Notre Dame's Collin Schneider hurled a perfect seventh to record the save. Brandon Breakell homered and singled with two RBIs for the Hawks. 

MVCC, which improves to 13-10 overall and 9-5 in Region III, hosts SUNY Broome in a doubleheader starting at noon Saturday.
