UTICA — Mohawk Valley Community College split Thursday's baseball doubleheader with Cayuga Community College at Murnane Field.

The Hawks won game one 13-3 in six innings, but dropped the nightcap 11-10.

In game one, Thomas R. Proctor graduate Felix DeAsa had three hits, while Proctor graduate Joe DiMasse and Oriskany graduate Colton Davis each had a pair of hits. New Hartford graduate Kyle Korrie pitched six innings scattering five hits while striking out five. Luis Reyes broke the MVCC all-time single season stolen bases record by swiping his 47th and 48th bags of the year.

In the second game, MVCC twice came back from multiple run deficits only to fall short 11-10. Reyes, Proctor graduate Rob Conley and Proctor graduate Josh Duval each had two hits for the Hawks.

MVCC hosts Jefferson Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday at Murnane Field.
