MVCC splits twin bill at Hudson Valley
TROY — The Mohawk Valley Community College baseball team split Tuesday's Region III doubleheader at Hudson Valley Community College. Both games were seven innings.
In game one, Holland Patent graduate Jacob Beer pitched a complete game allowing three earned runs as MVCC won 11-6. The Hawks battled back from an early 5-0 deficit to take the lead with four runs in the sixth inning, two on Proctor High of Utica graduate Josh Duval's single. Skye Lustig scored three runs, David Breakell and Oriskany grad Colton Davis each added a double.
MVCC dropped game two 6-1. Proctor grad Joe DiMasse had a pair of hits in the loss.
MVCC stands at 16-14 overall and 12-10 in Region III.
