MVCC athletes earn honors

Mohawk Valley Community College track and field standout and Whitesboro High School graduate Andy Hadasz earned two national championship titles and All-American status at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships earlier this month at Hudson Valley Community College.

In two years with the MVCC track team Hadasz is a three-time national champion and five-time All-American.

After an impressive season that included breaking a 27-year-old school record for stolen bases, MVCC baseball player Luis Reyes was named to the NJCAA Division III First Team All-Region III.

In 35 games this season, Reyes totaled 61 stolen bases, 42 hits, 36 runs, 16 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .450.

Reyes is from Queens.
