Mohawk Valley Community College is offering virtual events during the month of March.
• International Cafe and Conversation: “The Last Refuge: Sharing the Story of Resettlement in Utica,” with Loch Phillipps, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 10 online via Zoom.
Film Director Phillipps will present excerpts from “The Last Refuge” documentary and share stories from interviews explaining the role of refugees in the revitalization of Utica. A Zoom link will be emailed after registration.
• Psychic Fair: Virtual Tarot Card Readers will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, March 25 via Zoom.
Psychics will read your tarot cards live on Zoom through one-on-one appointments. A Zoom link will be emailed prior to event, after registration. Cost is $5.
• And at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, there will be a Facebook Live meeting of Online Citizens Preparedness Corps Training. The American Red Cross will host an online session of the Citizen Preparedness Corps training program.
The training gives a comprehensive overview on how to prepare for natural and man-made disasters and how to respond to and recover from them.
Participants will learn how to create a household emergency plan, prepare emergency kids customized for their household, how to be aware and stay informed of the different hazards of their community, and how they can get involved to help their community recover after an emergency.
