SHERRILL — Briggs & Stratton’s manufacturing facilities in Munnsville and Sherrill have immediate openings for dozens of positions ranging from manufacturing operations, engineering, sales, and supply chain management.

The hiring comes at a time when Briggs & Stratton has emerged from Chapter 11 restructuring as a new company with a new owner and a new CEO.

Briggs & Stratton officials said the New York operations are poised to play a key role in the company’s future.

The Sherrill facility opened just more than a year ago and is a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant where the company produces commercial equipment; and last year, Briggs & Stratton announced that it is moving production of its lawn tractors, residential zero-turn mowers, and snow throwers from its headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Munnsville.

“Now is an exciting time to join Briggs & Stratton and be part of a new beginning,” said Steve Andrews, Briggs & Stratton’s new president and CEO.

“Many opportunities are available to be a part of an iconic company with a renewed focus on innovation, new products, quick action, and growth. I’m impressed with the talented team of employees at Briggs & Stratton and look forward to growing that team to support what again be a very successful business,” Andrews said.

The facilities manufacture the company’s line of Ferris, Snapper, Snapper Pro, Simplicity, and some Billy Goat commercial turf equipment used by landscaping crews and premium homeowners around the country.

“The Ferris brand tagline is ‘Work Hard. Feel Good.’ and that applies to working here as well,” said Erin Zuck, human resources manager at the Sherrill plant. “We all take pride in the equipment that we make and feel good about the products we deliver to our customers.”

Briggs & Stratton offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees, including a wide array of health and wellness options, a generous employer matching 401(K) plan, paid holidays and vacation time, annual incentives, continuous career development, and more.

On-site hiring events are taking place each Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Sherrill facility, located at 100 E. Seneca St. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend.
