Morrisville teen charged with rape


VILLAGE OF MORRISVILLE — A teen-ager was charged with having sex with a girl under the age of 15.

State Police at Oneida Major Philip T. Rougeux and Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, said an investigation revealed that Joshua A. Eberle, 19, of Morrisville, had sex with a girl under the age of 15 during the month of August at a residence in Westmoreland.

Eberle was charged with second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sex act, both class D felonies.  He was transported to the Oneida County Correctional Facility pending centralized arraignment.

O’Meara said an order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim, who has been offered counseling through the CAC.
