HAMILTON — A 38-year-old man has been charged with stealing more than $500 worth of groceries and other merchandise from the Price Chopper supermarket in Hamilton, according to the New York State Police.
Troopers said Steven A. Johnson, of Canastota, was caught on security cameras at about 9 p.m. Oct. 5 walking out of the Price Chopper on Route 12B with more than $500 worth of food and other items. Photos of Johnson were circulated throughout the area and troopers said he was eventually identified and taken into custody on Dec. 5.
Johnson is charged with one count of petty larceny, a misdemeanor, troopers said. He is scheduled to appear in court.
