OLD FORGE — View, the Center for Arts and Culture, 3273 Route 28, will host Moose in the Adirondacks, the second lecture in its Summer Eco Gallery Talk series, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24. Steven Heerkens, a Senior Wildlife Biologist with the state Department of Environmental Conservation in Region 6, will lead the presentation.

Heerkens is a big game and migratory waterfowl biologist for the region and an administer of day-to-day wildlife programs for Oneida and Herkimer counties.

He has worked extensively in the Adirondacks with moose and black bears, and conducts annual migratory bird surveys in portions of the Adirondack Park.

Admission is free.  View will hold a reception with a cash bar at 6 p.m., and Heerkens presentation will start at 7 p.m.

The Eco Gallery Talks continue in August with Fishery Research in the Adirondack Mountain Region presented by Dan Josephson on Aug. 6 and Understanding Ticks and Their Diseases, presented by Dr. Brian Leydet and Dr. Kristopher Paolino on Aug. 12.

Both presentations are at 7 p.m., with the cash bar opening at 6 p.m.
