SALISBURY — The vulnerable adult reported missing in Herkimer County on Monday was found dead in a wooded area near his home, according to the New York State Police.

Troopers said Jan L. Dager, 58, left his home on Heller Road on Saturday and was reported missing. State police and other rescue personnel searched the area near his home, and they said Dager's body was found late Monday in a wooded area about one half mile from his residence.

The death appears to be natural, investigators stated.

The investigation remains ongoing.
