REMSEN — Food trucks, music, and crafts are returning to Remsen on Saturday, Sept. 25.

This-mini fall festival, a fundraiser for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and sponsored by the team Penguin Platoon, is returning to help fill the void of the popular Barn Fest which is canceled this year, according to an announcement by event organizers.

The festival will be held at the Remsen Train Depot, 10613 Depot Street, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday only.

Team organizers are offering the mini-fest to help area crafters have a chance to sell their goods, while also raising money for the American Cancer Society.

The donation will be used for free patient services such as rides to treatment, overnight stays at Hope Lodge,
and a 24/7 support/help line, organizers added.

Crafters will offer a variety of items from alpaca products to leather bags and wallets, jewelry, painted glass, pet related stepping stones and garden décor, among other items.

Jess Northland Sweets will have homemade treats including “Flocks” (half dozen) of cupcakes. Options are chocolate or vanilla including gluten free, decorated with pink frosting and a pink flamingo pick, perfect for breast cancer awareness. A portion of the proceeds from each Flock is being donated to Making Strides. Pre-orders are suggested by contacting Jessica at 315-927-9761 or find her on Facebook at JessNorthland Sweets. Pre-orders will be taken until Sept. 18.
