SYRACUSE — Micron Technology Inc. hosted an Educators Forum at the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) for educators to meet and greet with Micron leaders to ask questions and learn more about collaboration opportunities on Wednesday, Oct. 26, including Micron plans to continue to support local K-12 education programs, community colleges, and institutions to enable top engineering and technology talent in Central New York.

On Thursday, Oct. 27, Micron announced a $500,000 MOST sponsorship.

Micron funds will support a long-term MOST exhibit that provides students and their families with hands-on experiences to learn about semiconductors and their common applications. In addition, Micron will make midwinter-vacation and spring-break MOST science camps available to students at no cost and host a STEM education series, as well as design challenges, that promotes continuous learning.

“We are thrilled for this tremendous and generous support from Micron,” said Lauren Kochian, MOST president.

“Partnering with a company like Micron will improve the access and reach of our incredible STEM education programs for our students; and a new exhibit will serve as an educational tool in semiconductors, chip manufacturing and memory for visitors of all ages,” the MOST president said.

“Micron’s investment in the MOST and their belief in our mission of hands-on STEM education demonstrates the great opportunity they will provide to our community’s students,” Kochian said of the donation’s future impact.
