Michael “Mike” Walker, 55, left to be with the Lord on May 11, 2018, after a brief illness.
He was born on April 30, 1963, in New Hartford, NY. Mike was a graduate of Holland Patent High School, class of 1981. After graduating, Mike worked for Rome Memorial Hospital over 20 years. He loved camping, boating and being outdoors. Mike was an avid motorcyclist, enjoying going to car shows and working on cars with his sons. He was the most optimistic person and he never let life get him down.
He is survived by his parents, Rodney and Anna Seelman Walker, of Holland Patent; a son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Bethany Walker and their children, Julian and Alexandra, of Holland Patent; a son and his girlfriend, Justin Walker and Meghan Geary, of Floyd; one step daughter, Amanda and two step sons, Joshua and Jason Bleau, all of Rome; and one brother, Ronald, of Chapel Hill, NC and his children Dream and Ronald Jr.; his partners in crime, Ashley and Trevor Aldrich; and many other family members and close friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses at Mohawk Glen Dialysis and Dr. Murphy and his staff at St. Luke’s for their care and compassion. Please consider memorial contributions to the National Kidney Association and the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Holland Patent Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the funeral service.
