ONEIDA — Two men are facing multiple charges after a felony amount of methamphetamine was found during a Madison County traffic stop Thursday evening, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies said Eric Howe, 26, of Oneida, was pulled over for a vehicle and traffic violations in the 200 block of Lenox Ave. at about 7:40 p.m. Thursday. Once stopped, deputies said they found half an ounce of meth inside the 2017 Kia Forte. Both Howe and his passenger, Franklin Cowan, 40, of Syracuse, were taken into custody, authorities stated.

Following the traffic stop, deputies said they searched Howe's residence on Linden Street and found a 9mm ghost gun with two magazines and an additional 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Howe and Cowan are both charged with one count each of third, fourth, fifth and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-degree use of drug paraphernalia, deputies stated. Howe is additionally charged with two counts each of third and fourth-degree possession of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of a firearm, authorities said. Both men are scheduled to appear in court.
