Meditation with Trees to take place in Old Forge
OLD FORGE — Meditation with Trees, an artisan outdoor workshop, will help people connect to themselves and nature at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 22, at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd.
Led by Doug Davis, participants will learn about the healing benefits of quietly being and connecting with trees and Mother Earth, say workshop organizers.
Trees are known to symbolize wisdom, stability, shelter, growth and renewal, the organizers said, adding that in the workshop, several techniques for meditating with trees will be discussed, and participants will leave the workshop knowing how to appreciate and connect with their favorite trees.
Davis leads meditation and nature workshops at the library several times a year, and participants have been very positive, often returning to give themselves the time out to connect with trees on the library grounds, the organizers said.
Participants are asked to dress for the outdoors and any weather conditions, the event organizers said.
Meditation with Trees workshops will be held monthly through the summer and fall.
The workshop is free for all to attend. Call 315-369-6008 or e-mail oldforge@midyork.org to register. Walk-ins are also welcome.
