Oneida County now has a retail dispensary of medical cannabis with the opening this week of a Valley Agriceuticals’
Remedy location at 4776 Commercial Drive in New Hartford.
Remedy opened with a selection of capsules, vape pens and cartridges, and tinctures, the company said in an announcement.
Patients can purchase up to a 30-day supply after being certified for any one of the state-approved medical conditions including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and others, the announcement added.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Under state regulations effective in late December, registered organizations are allowed to manufacture and distribute additional products including topicals such as ointments, lotions and patches; solid and semi-solid products, including chewable and effervescent tablets and lozenges; and certain non-smokable forms of ground plant material.
The state Health Department reserves the right to exclude inappropriate products or those which pose a threat to public health.
The new regulations also allow prospective patients and practitioners to enter dispensing facilities to speak directly with RO representatives, learn about products and get information about the medical marijuana program.
In addition, people other than designated caregivers may accompany patients to dispensing facilities.
Valley Agriceuticals also opened a dispensary in Rockland County this week.
The company also has a production facility in Orange County.
