Isibeal McMahon scored five goals to power the Rome Free Academy girls lacrosse team to a 17-4 steamrolling of Syracuse on the road Monday in non-league play.

RFA’s Alexandra Tapia had a hat trick and two assists and teammate Drew Kopek also had a hat trick.

Danielle D’Aiuto and Alyssa Nardslico each scored twice and had three assists for the Black Knights. Fiona McMahon and Ellyza Minicozzi each scored for the Black Knights and Brynn Furbeck added an assist.

In goal for RFA, Alana Iacovissi had three saves and Hannah Lowder made one.

Leading Syracuse was Emma Cecile, who scored twice and had an assist.

In net for Syracuse, Kiley Monroe stopped six shots.

RFA was scheduled to host Clinton at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

New Hartford’s Holmes Ks 14 in win; VVS’s Lehnen Ks 15

The New Hartford softball team scored three runs in the first added another in the second en route to a 5-1 win at home over TVL opponent VVS Monday.

VVS scored its lone run in the fourth but New Hartford added one in the fifth.

Sienna Holmes improved to 2-0 on the season in the circle for the Spartans with a 14-strikeout performance. She allowed three hits.

Offensively, Taylor Raux had the Spartans’ lone extra base hit, a double.

For VVS, pitcher Kendal Lehnen struck out 15 but took the loss, allowing two earned runs on four hits.

New Hartford is now 2-0 and was scheduled to be home for TVL opponent Whitesboro at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. VVS hosts Thomas R. Proctor in TVL action at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Camden gets late tiebreaker to top Notre Dame

Right after the Utica Notre Dame softball team had tied Camden 2-2 in the fifth inning, the Blue Devils came right back with two runs to take a 4-2 lead. That held up as the final score in the TVL game in Camden Monday.

Ryleigh Johnson allowed two runs on four hits and five walks for Camden with 12 strikeouts.

Kaitlyn Findlay had two hits and two RBIs for Camden. Jadyn Prievo had a double and scired twice. Brooke Musch had a hit and scored twice as well. Avery Prievo had two hits for the Devils.

For the Jugglers, Ella Trinkaus allowed four runs, three of them earned, in six innings. She gave up six hits and walked two with seven strikeouts.

Sam Paparella doubled for Notre Dame and scored a run. Maggie Trinkaus had a hit and a run scored. Ella Trinkaus had a hit and an RBI and Lily Comenale drove in a run.

Camden is now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the TVL. The Blue Devils were scheduled to host Fulton at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Notre Dame falls to 3-3 and was scheduled to host Rome Free Academy in the TVL at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Oneida tennis beats Whitesboro on the road

The Oneida boys tennis team got a 4-1 win at Whitesboro Monday in a TVL match that opened the season for both teams.

Oneida’s Seth O’Connell, Spencer Ingmire and Ryan Lusher won the three singles matches.

Oneida’s Ethan Schmidt and Robert Paul won the first doubles. Whitesboro’s Aiden Johnson and Hunter Kimball won the second doubles match.
