May announces funds for district libraries

SYRACUSE — Around $700,000 in library construction funding has been awarded to libraries across Madison, Oneida, and Onondaga counties.

“As a huge advocate for local libraries I am incredibly happy that so many in my district have received funding for necessary renovations and improvements,” said Sen. Rachel May, D-53,
Syracuse.

Projects include upgrading lighting, refinishing parking lots, improving HVAC systems, renovating children’s rooms and restrooms, and a complete roof replacement. Below is a list of the libraries to receive funding.

From the Mid York Library System in Madison and Oneida Counties are the following awards:

Canastota Public Library — $16,433

Cazenovia Public Library — $40,450

Earlville Free Library — $14,168

Hamilton Public Library — $64,500

Morrisville Public Library — $7,500

New Woodstock Free Library — $35,475

Oneida Public Library — $31,500

Sullivan Free Library — $96,450

Kirkland Town Library — $33,067

From the Onondaga County

Public Library System:

Liverpool Public Library — $186,913

NOPL North Syracuse — $127,418

Beauchamp Branch Library — $33,907

Hazard Branch Library — $31,635

Salina Free Library — $9,300
