UTICA — Strategic Financial Services, Inc., an independent, Central New York-based wealth management firm, has announced Gregory Mattacola, Esq., has achieved his CFP designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

This designation is awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board’s educational curriculum and then a comprehensive exam.

The certification also requires ongoing education programs to sustain the skills and certification, according to the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

This formal recognition further positions Mattacola as an expert in the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning and retirement, the Strategic Financial Services announcement adds.

Mattacola joined the Strategic team in 2018, and he currently serves as a lead adviser and head of the new Rome office, 1320 Floyd Ave, near the entrance to the Griffiss Business Development Park.

Mattacola founded and operated The Mattacola Law Firm for 13 years in Rome with a focus on estate planning, health care and employment law.

He has also served as vice-president/in-house counsel to Rome Memorial Hospital, and counsel to Hancock Estabrook, LLP.

He is a past chairman of the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, now serving as the organization’s vice-chairman.

He has also been involved in a host of other community efforts, the announcement said.

“We are focused on helping people live great lives. Our approach as a fiduciary is to build lifetime partnerships with consistent service, a straightforward approach and good people,” said Alan Leist, III, CEO of Strategic Financial Services.

“We are proud of Greg’s accomplishment and the impact it will have on his ability to carry forward our mission not only as an adviser but as the leader of our new Rome office,” added Leist.
